Welcome to the Ashima Mars Climate Center
This site provides access to processed spacecraft data related to the Martian atmosphere and climate that we've either generated at Ashima Research, or that we use at Ashima and we know is not otherwise widely available. Currently, the site provides processed Mars Daily Global Map (MDGM) images from the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) instrument and initial "reanalysis" data from the MGS Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES). We expect to increase the available processed data to include the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Mars Color Imager (MARCI) and Mars Climate Sounder (MCS) data in the future, as well as complete reanalysis from TES. It is important to note that we only support processed data products. This is not a replacement for the Planetary Data System (PDS) - our goal is to provide high level processed products that are not available from the PDS.
In addition to the processed data, this site also provides access to the models used to derive the reanalysis data products. Currently, the Martian versions of the Data Assimilation Research Testbed and the planetWRF GCM. Additional models may be added as they are used in the system.
